What with a new year approaching rather fast and knowing that my lifestyle needs to change, I thought I would go back a little and start up a blog which I have not done for many years.

I used to love blogging.  I found it quite therapeutic and helped put goals and plans into reality.. making myself answerable to the things I write.

So this year has brought an array of emotions, achievements, disappointments and challenges;

I turned the big $ - ) this year which turned out really to be just an ordinary day which was not really celebrated as such, although I wanted to...

I signed up to walk half marathon distance of Hadrian's Wall with four other girls..... which was actually really quite difficult.  Only two of the five of us finished it completely.  I managed 8 miles which, although disappointed that I didn't finish it, I was quite proud of my achievement as I have a heart condition and found hitting 5 miles I was struggling with my breathing.  I knew then I would not finish the whole distance but wanted to push past to achieve more than half... which I did.

Having a 17 year old daughter has been challenging at times.  On a whole my daughter KT is very good and has developed into a beautiful and friendly young lady... but with her being our only child it was been difficult to let go and let her do things she wants to do and be free.  We are still struggling to this day ..... NYE parties in another town and with no firm plans of where she will be kipping and ex-boyfriend being out..... I am surprised I still have hair and that I have not developed in an alcoholic this festive season!!

So 2018..... what plans do I have?

As per the norm for many around the World I guess, I want to loose weight and get myself into some kind of better shape.

I want to get back into cross stitching as this has been neglected and have only picked up pieces once in a while over 2017.  I am today dragging out UFOs and sorting it out into some kind of rotation system.  I might even squeeze in a new project... we shall see....

I want to watch more films.  I really enjoyed this festive season relaxing and watching some films.  I managed to get around to watching Legend with Tom Hardy about the Krays.  This got me talking about films I have never watching which are considered classics or "must watches" and so decided that I need to watch more films.

I want to be more frugal this year as KT is off to Uni come September so I want to be able to help her out a little more with setting up and sending her little goodies whilst she is away.  Potentially across the other side of the Country , but we shall see... all depends on results etc.... So food shopping I am going to try more supermarket own items and maybe even some Basics.  I am going to stitch more of what I have in my stash and look at buying charts etc second hand.

What plans do you have for 2018?  Whatever you decide.... I wish you a very healthy and happy 2018.
